Catalytic Degradation of Anionic Organic Dye on Greenly Synthesized CuO/ZnO Nanocomposites

CuO/ZnO nanocomposites were greenly prepared and tested for the catalytic degradation of methyl orange. The XRD analysis confirmed existence CuO ZnO with crystallite sizes within range 15–30 nm. TEM SEM images showed different morphological properties. TGA revealed a good thermal stability nanocomposite, total loss less than 18% at temperature 700 °C. orange under mild conditions catalyst mass/wastewater volume 10 g/3 L, an initial dye concentration 40 ppm, pH 4.5, time 3 h. best efficiency 49.1% was achieved by nanoparticles (C), followed 47.6%, which obtained 1C1Z. (Z) 16.4%, it increased increasing precursor in synthesis mixture, while adding to CuO, resulting decrease its performance.
